Like a lot of vanlifers, we pieced together a handful of different apps just to find an overnight spot, a water fill, or a dog-friendly pub. None of them quite got it — clunky interfaces, outdated info, nothing that reflected the freedom of actually living on the road.
So we set out to build something better: a toolkit made by vanlifers, for vanlifers — one that's simple, reliable, and shaped by feedback from the people actually using it.
But VanLife Tribe is bigger than the app. It's a brand and a movement for anyone who finds freedom on the road — a place to discover hidden stopovers, share your own, and connect with people living the same way.

Is VanLife Tribe Explore free?
Yes. The free plan is free forever and lets you find, add and review stopovers and plan a trip. Explore Plus unlocks unlimited trips, offline stopovers, advanced filters, Van Health and member discounts for £4.99 a month (with a 7-day free trial) or yearly.
Does the app work without signal?
Yes. Explore Plus members can save stopovers for offline use and view saved trip routes when there's no signal — ideal for remote Scotland, the Highlands and rural Wales.
What kind of stopovers are on the map?
Aires, campsites, pubs with overnight parking, lay-bys, overnight car parks, water points, chemical disposal points, LPG refills and more — added and reviewed by the VanLife Tribe community.
Can I add my own stopovers?
Yes. Any user can add or edit a stopover. New submissions are checked before they appear on the map, and Ambassadors can earn free Explore Plus months for approved stopovers.
How does Van Health work?
Enter your registration to sync your MOT details from the DVLA, then track road tax, insurance, breakdown cover and service intervals with reminders before anything is due. Van Health is part of Explore Plus.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. Cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, at least 24 hours before your renewal date.
